A lifestyle newborn session with four kids is every bit as fun and crazy as you might imagine, but also so much fun and so full of love and sweet moments.
People often ask what my favorite type of session to photograph is. It&#8217;s tricky to answer because I really do love all of them for different reasons. And my answer will probably vary based on how I&#8217;m feeling that day. But without a doubt, <a href="https://stacietatum.com/newborns/">lifestyle newborn sessions</a> are one of my top most favoritest. Not just because I get to hold tiny squishy babies and breathe in their adorable essence &#8211; although I love those parts for sure. They&#8217;re some of the best because it&#8217;s such an incredible and unique time to document. All that tininess and sweetness and sleepy cuteness. Tiny toes and a gaze that clearly says &#8220;what on earth is going on?&#8221; And the newborn phase goes by So. Fast. And in the blurriest blur you could ever imagine.
Newborn sessions tend to show newborns as sleepy and calm. Of course, if you&#8217;ve ever had a newborn baby, you know that&#8217;s only a small slice of what life with them is like! Newborn sessions are great for capturing those calm moments, but there are also so many real life moments that are equally beautiful. Even if they&#8217;re not so calm. 🙂
So what happens when you have a lifestyle newborn session with four kids? Ummm&#8230;.You never know!!! Usually plenty of super sweet moments mixed in with a good dose of chaos. But there&#8217;s beauty in the chaos. And it&#8217;s such a gift to be able to document that craziness and, ultimately, love. Sometimes older siblings are hesitant to interact with their new little brother or sister, but these kids were all SO excited to hold their new baby sister and be a part of the session. They&#8217;ve grown so much since t<a href="https://stacietatum.com/crazy-fun-with-three/">he last newborn session I did with them</a> and since the epic<a href="https://stacietatum.com/the-best-kind-of-saturday-dallas-documentary-photographer/"> Day in the Life session</a> we did in early 2020.
